Hi @Skip20,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the "Printer is busy. Try again later" error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 can be frustrating, but here are steps to resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall and the printer.
  5. Turn the printer on and check if the issue persists.

2. Cancel Pending Print Jobs

If there are any stuck print jobs, they may cause the "Printer is busy" error.

  • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
  • Navigate to Devices and Printers> Right-click on your printer > Select See what's printing.
  • Right-click in the print queue and select Cancel All Documents.
  • Restart your computer and the printer.

3. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path.
  • Remove all paper from the tray, fan the stack, and reload it properly.
  • Ensure the paper size and type match the settings in the printer.

4. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

An outdated or corrupted driver can cause communication issues.

  • Download the latest driver for the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 from the HP Support Website.
  • Uninstall the current driver:
    • Open Control Panel> Programs and Features> Uninstall the HP printer software.
  • Restart your computer and install the updated driver.

5. Reset the Printer Settings

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
  • Navigate to Printer Maintenance> Restore Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset and set up the printer again.

6. Check Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup> Printer Maintenance> Printer Updates.
  • Check for and install any available firmware updates.

7. Attempt Paper Modification via HP Smart App

  • Open the HP Smart App on your Windows 11 computer.
  • Go to Printer Settings.
  • Adjust the paper type and size in the app instead of on the printer screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
