Hi @Skip20,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the "Printer is busy. Try again later" error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 can be frustrating, but here are steps to resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall and the printer.
- Turn the printer on and check if the issue persists.
2. Cancel Pending Print Jobs
If there are any stuck print jobs, they may cause the "Printer is busy" error.
- Open the Control Panel on your computer.
- Navigate to Devices and Printers> Right-click on your printer > Select See what's printing.
- Right-click in the print queue and select Cancel All Documents.
- Restart your computer and the printer.
3. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path.
- Remove all paper from the tray, fan the stack, and reload it properly.
- Ensure the paper size and type match the settings in the printer.
4. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
An outdated or corrupted driver can cause communication issues.
- Download the latest driver for the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 from the HP Support Website.
- Uninstall the current driver:
- Open Control Panel> Programs and Features> Uninstall the HP printer software.
- Restart your computer and install the updated driver.
5. Reset the Printer Settings
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance> Restore Defaults.
- Confirm the reset and set up the printer again.
6. Check Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup> Printer Maintenance> Printer Updates.
- Check for and install any available firmware updates.
7. Attempt Paper Modification via HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart App on your Windows 11 computer.
- Go to Printer Settings.
- Adjust the paper type and size in the app instead of on the printer screen.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
