Hi @Sugarbear5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "E" and "0" error on your HP DeskJet 2700 series printer, along with the two orange flashing lights, typically indicate an issue with the printer's configuration, such as a cartridge problem, paper jam, or a connection issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Resolve Potential Cartridge Issues

  • Check Ink Cartridges:
    • Open the printer's cartridge access door and inspect the ink cartridges.
    • Ensure the cartridges are properly seated and securely clicked into place.
    • Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure proper connection.
    • If the cartridges are empty or damaged, replace them with genuine HP cartridges.

Inspect for Paper Jams

  • Paper Path:
    • Open the input and output trays and check for paper jams.
    • Gently remove any jammed paper, ensuring no small bits are left behind.
  • Rollers:
    • Inspect and clean the paper feed rollers if necessary.

Check Printer Connections

  • Wireless Setup:
    • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to your network. Reset the wireless setup if necessary.
  • Wired Connection:
    • If using a USB cable, ensure it is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
    • Try using a different USB port or cable to rule out hardware issues.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check if the error persists.

Run the HP Smart App

  • Open the HP Smart App on your computer or smartphone.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and resolve the issue.
  • If the app prompts you to update the printer firmware, do so.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Ensure the printer's firmware is up to date. Updates can resolve many errors.
  • Visit the HP support page for the DeskJet 2700 series to download the latest firmware.

Clear the Error

  • After performing the above steps, press the cancel button (usually a red "X") on the printer to clear the error and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
