Hello HP Community,
I am an IT Director of a non-profit business. Our department recently purchased a couple of HP Color LaserJet MFP 3301sdw printers, primarily for our owners to use the scan-to-email function when working remotely from home.
After configuring the SMTP server and testing the configuration—which came back successful—we attempted to test the scan-to-email feature by scanning a test document. We ran into a printer error code (C1.BF.FC.0B) during the attempt.
At the time, we had firmware version "6.17.3.269-202405221647," but after doing some research on other HP forums, a post indicated that this particular firmware version was the cause of this error code (Link to post: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/Hp-Color-LaserJet-MFP-3301fdw-giving-error-code-C1-BF-FC-0B/td-p/9126174), so we decided to upgrade to the latest firmware.
After downloading the latest firmware version that was recently released--this version specified in the notes that it mitigated the original error code--(6.17.5.34-202412122146) and uploading it to a USB thumb drive, we updated each printer to the latest firmware version. Once successfully updated, we tested each printer by re-attempting to scan-to-email a document but, unfortunately, ran into another printer error code:
If anyone has suggestions or solutions to mitigate this error code so we can successfully scan to email, that would be awesome!
