I understand you're unable to print a document. What is your exact model number. Click here to find out. If this printer is connected wireless, then follow these steps:

 

Please perform a power cycle on your router, printer and computer:

 

1) Turn off your printer
2) Disconnect the power cord from the back of the router
3) Wait less than 60 seconds, plug the power cord back into the router
3) Restart your computer
4) Turn your printer back on, wait for the computer to turn on

 

Next, I would follow this HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. This document does provide step-by-step instructions to assign a "Static IP Address".
