Hi @lewhab
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
1. Check Paper Settings
- Ensure that the printer settings match the type of paper loaded in the tray.
- Go to Printers & Scanners in Windows settings, select your printer, and click on Manage> Printing preferences. Make sure the correct paper type is selected.
2. Inspect Paper Tray
- Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray. The paper should be aligned and not overfilled.
- Check for any obstructions in the paper path or inside the tray.
3. Reset Printer Settings
- Navigate to the printer’s settings menu and perform a factory reset. This can sometimes clear persistent errors.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for firmware updates for your printer:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Search for your printer model and check for available firmware updates. Follow the instructions to install any updates.
5. Clear Print Queue
- Sometimes, jobs stuck in the print queue can cause issues. Clear the print queue:
- Open Printers & Scanners in Windows settings.
- Select your printer, click on Open queue, and cancel any pending jobs.
6. Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- This can help reset the printer’s internal settings.
