Hi @FROGE,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart Tank 6001 printer is printing pages crookedly, it could be due to a number of issues ranging from alignment problems to paper handling issues. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the problem:

1. Check and Adjust Paper Settings

1.1. Verify Paper Type and Size

Check Paper Specifications:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct paper type and size for your printer. Refer to your printer’s manual for supported paper types and sizes.

Adjust Paper Guides:

  • Make sure the paper guides in the input tray are adjusted to fit the size of the paper you are using. Paper that is not properly aligned in the tray can cause crooked printing.

1.2. Load Paper Properly

Reload Paper:

  • Remove the paper from the input tray and reload it. Ensure that the paper stack is aligned correctly and not bent or curled.

Avoid Overloading:

  • Do not overload the paper tray, as this can cause paper feeding issues.

2. Perform Printhead Alignment

2.1. Run Printhead Alignment

Open HP Smart Software:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

Access Printer Tools:

  • Go to the Printer Settings or Tools section.

Select Printhead Alignment:

  • Look for an option to align the printheads and follow the on-screen instructions.

Print Alignment Page:

  • The printer may print an alignment page. Follow the instructions to scan the alignment page or insert it back into the printer as required.

3. Clean the Printer

3.1. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

Open the Printer:

  • Open the printer’s access doors to reach the paper feed rollers.

Clean Rollers:

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the paper feed rollers. Gently wipe the rollers to remove any dust or debris.

Allow to Dry:

  • Allow the rollers to dry completely before attempting to print again.

3.2. Check for Obstructions

  1. Inspect for Debris:
    • Check the paper path and remove any paper or debris that may be obstructing the feed mechanism.

4. Check Printer Firmware

4.1. Update Firmware

Visit HP Support:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.

Download and Install Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer and follow the instructions to install it.

5. Perform a Printer Reset

5.1. Reset the Printer

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer.

Unplug the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cord and wait for about 60 seconds.

Reconnect and Power On:

  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on. Check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
