Hi BSkipper,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you would like to be able to remove the print job from the Win 8 queue.
I will be happy to help you.
Go to the start up screen, (tiles menu) type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printer.
Right-click the name of the product, and then click See what's printing .
Click Printer, then click Cancel All Documents.
Click Yes to confirm the action.
If documents remain in the print queue, restart the computer.
If the job is still there then restart the printer spooler.
Here is a document for restarting the print spooler on Win 8.
How To Restart The Print Spooler Service In Windows 8.
If you are still having issue try the following steps:
Stop the print spooler, leave the window available.
Click the Windows key on the keyboard to get to the start up screen.
Type computer, click on computer, go the C: Drive, Windows, system 32, spool, printers.
On that windows delete everything listed.
Then start the print spooler again.
Try and delete the job in the print queue again.
Then right click and uninstall the printer driver icon.
Let me know how you make out.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
Have a great weekend!
