Welcome to the HP Forums!

 

I understand you are receiving a message "Remove the USB device from the printer, turn Printer off and then on."  I will try to resolve this issue!

 

Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. This step is mandatory, since you are receiving this error message.

 

Next, follow this HP document on 'Turn Power Off then On' Message Displays on the Control Panel. Double check to make sure there is no USB cord hook up to your printer or computer.
