HP wireless printers

I have a Compaq Presario desktop, a HP Pavilion G7 laptop and a Dell Inspiron laptop. All are 64 bit machines running windows 7 home edition. I used to have an HP officejet 8500 printer hooked up wirelessly to all computers. Worked great but eventually went out to lunch. I recently bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 and a HP Officejet Pro 8500 Plus. These printers work wirelessly on both of the laptops. The 8600 works on the desktop but when you do a print; a dialog box comes up that states "Can't communicate with printer. In about 15 seconds the box closes and then the printer will print. When scannning the same thing happens. Both cases it does not always happen, it might just go and print or bring up the scan menu and then I can scan.

The 8500 won't work at all on the desktop. I have deleted the printer and associated software at least 8 times.Downloadedth the drivers from HP website and re-installed the 8500 printer. Sometimes it connects wirelessly but not thru the software setup. Usually I have to connect wirelessly thru the printer menus. I have downloaded and ran the Print and Scan Doctor numerous times. I spent 2 hours on the phone with your India support team and they took over my computer and essentially did the same things I had already done many times. I knew they had to follow a certain protocol and I let them do that. She finally said, "I have to do more research on this and will call you back tomorrow. We agreed on 8:30 Arizona time. No one has contacted me today.

What is different from my desktop to my laptops that allow the laptops to work perfectly, but the desktop won't work CLEANLY for the 8600 and the 8500. The software iwas downloaded loaded on all 3 computers and we print to each of these printer from the laptops, but not the desktop.

Thanks,

Linrod
