Hi,
A few days ago I bought an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
It works great, but there are issues with networking.
Current setup:
- printer is connected wirelessly
- printer is assigned a static IP (192.168.1.30) outside the DHP range (33+)
- PC is connected via LAN to the router
- PC is assigned a static IP (192.168.1.11)
- PC is connected to a second network (static IP 10.0.0.10)
- PC suspends after 10 minutes of inactivity
- Windows firewall is desactivated
- Comodo is installed on the PC
- HP software is allowed communication
- HP software is installed on PC (HP Officejet Pro 8600)
Issuses:
- I cannot configure the scan network folder as the programs shows an error ('There is a communication problem with the printer')
- I can configure the scan network folder if I go directly to the printer's IP
- If the printer goes to sleep, I can no longer scan to network folder.
- PC is up, running and connected.
- Printer answers a ping command.
- The only solution is to restart the PC
I looked on theses forums and I tried several solutions (including the static IP)
It does not work. Please help me to set up the printer correctly.
I would also accept a clear answer stating that HP in unable to fix this issue.
I just want to know if it is worth trying to fix the problem or live with it.
Thank you.
