I have recently switched our printers over to the Universal Print Driver 5.6.1 and have been experiencing some issues with the colour printer.
For the most part (for me and the admin logon and sporatically on student logons) it works perfectly fine, all the printing defaults are set correctly on the server and they pass through to myself and the admin logon.
However, the students are having a harder time using this printer. When students send print jobs to this machine (and it doesn't happen all the time. I noticed only sometimes do they receive the incorrect settings, but the amount of times they receive the wrong settings, outweighs the times they receieve the correct settings), it asks for the paper to be loaded into the manual feed tray instead of tray 2.
I have been googling and troubleshooting this issue for 2 days now and I am stumped. When they receive the 'bad settings', the fields are set to nonsensical selections such as "Paper Source: 726" and "Paper Type: USER TYPE 5". Yet when looking through the settings on a session that did get the settings, these options are not present (plus we don't have 726 trays ha ha) and the correct "Paper Source: Tray 2" and "Paper Type: Unspecified" settings.
I am not sure where to go from here. Ultimately switching back to the original drivers should fix the issue but I am really trying to get the UPD going on our print server.
I hope somebody can lend a hand with me on this one.
