Thanks so much for your post. I think selecting "HP Jetdirect Socket" is the one thing I didn't do earlier...hopefully the printer & laptop stay "connected" from now on.
Another question: my printer is out of Cyan ink (barely use color printing). Now, whenever I print, even if it's black&white only, the printer won't print the job until I press the flashing "paper feed" button. Once I press it, the job prints just fine. I'm wondering if there is a way around having to physically press that button each time I print. I'm sure replacing the Cyan cartridge would do it, but since I rarely print anything but B&W, it would be nice to be able to print without manually pushing that button for each job.
