PSC 1400 Can no longer print via Windows 7 (64 Bit)

I know this topic has been covered to some extent in other posts, but I am creating a new post in the hope that there is some new information out there - specific to what I am experiencing. I am using a DELL XPS which has just had Windows 7 (64 bit) + Office 2010 re-installed.

This laptop was new last year and came preloaded with the windows 7 etc software - I had no problems at that time configuring and printing to my PSC 1400.

I have just had to have the machine reloaded again with Windows 7 (64 bit) and Office 2010. This time I cannot get the printer to work.

I have found the Windows 7 (64bit) driver for my printer on the HP Site.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=458990&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=436453&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4063#93344

I have downloaded this driver and the HP Centre now shows the printer as available but I still have issues - basically the printer is not available to print to i.e. in Word and when you try to Add printer I receive the message "The active directory domain services is currently unavailable".

I have found many posts related to this message and they seem to indicate that the printer is not supported by Windows 7, BUT if this is the case why did it used to work and why is there a driver for it on the HP site?

Any ideas?

Thanks
