I had the same problem with my first printer. I took this back to the retailer and they gave me a replacement.
This too has the same fault in that the on/off switch often does not work until I recycle the power.
IT TO ME A DESIGN FAULT CONNECTED TO THE SWITCH ELECTRONICS.
The shop I bought it from are selling these in a bargain package!!!,
