Replying with more details:
- I CAN add the 5642 both as a NETWORK and USB attached printer. After multiple attempts, I finally got the local (USB) printing to work.
- When printing to the 5642 NETWORK instance (from 2 different Windows computers), the print says "SPOOLING", "PRINTING" but then nothing is ever printed.
- I tried using the HP DR tool to diagnose the problem. No problems found other than update available for the SW - as noted in my original post, install of the HP 5640 software fails with "error 5". I also tried UNINSTALLING the currently installed HP 5640 basic software but the uninstall ALSO fails with "error 5".
- At this point, I'm trying to focus on why Windows tells me the print to the NETWORK instance of the 5642 worked but nothing comes out on the printer (reminder, the printer is working OK - I can print local/USB with no issues).
Any thoughts, input or suggestions appreciated.
