Hello from Canada, your help will be greatly appreciated! My details are as follows:
I've had my HP Officejet 6500A Plus E710n-z for over a year now, and the margins printed fine until just a couple of weeks ago, when I replaced all 4 cartridges (all brand new 920XLs, none refilled).
Now when I print in MS Word, PDF etc, all 4 margins in Word (both Portrait and Landscape) are set to 1", and appear as so in Print Previews. But when printed, the top Portrait margin turns out to be more like 1.5" (bottom margin therefore just under 1", although both side margins appear correct), and the left Landscape margin gets cut off by I'd say about 0.5" (right margin therefore just over 1", top & bottom appear correct). Ironically, I just now printed a couple of Test Pages (by right-clicking the printer, then Properties, then Test Page), and they printed with correct margins. But when I printed a Word and PDF document right afterwards, the problem reappeared. We also have a Samsung (Monochrome Printer, my family member's printer), which correctly prints the 1" margins in both Portait and Landscape, as shown in Print Previews.
So far, the only way I've been able to print a 1" top margin (Portrait, and in MS Word only) is go to Print Layout and adjust the top margin to anywhere between 0.65" - 0.67" (all 3 other margins still at 1", and Print Preview shows the reduced top margin). But when printed, the top margin (as well as the 3 other margins) turns out to be almost exactly 1". But unfortunately, I can't do this for PDFs.
The only way I've been able to print a left margin that isn't cut off (Landscape, any program) is something like Printer Properties --> Advanced --> New Driver --> HP Deskjet 450 --> Next --> Finish --> Apply --> OK, which I do right before I need to print anything in Landscape. But once I change the driver back to its original HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z, the Landscape left margin gets cut off once again. Also, this solution doesn't solve the top margin problem.
Is this a common issue with this printer model? And are there any solutions? As I mentioned earlier, all I did was replace the cartridges, and everything was just fine before that. Please help! Thanks all.
