"The following ink cartridge(s) must be replaced" on screen after installing new genuine cartridges

Installed a new genuine HP 678 color cartridge after getting a low ink message on my Deskjet 3545.

Got a new message "Ink cartridge problem.  "The following cartridge must be replaced".  I took it out and reinstalled.  Pressed OK.  Same message.  Installed new genuine HP 678 black cartridge.  Pressed OK.  Same result.  

Continued removing and replacing the same cartridges.  Same result.

Turned printer off and on.  Same result
