I understand that your are not able to print in color from your Mac OSX 10.6.8 machine to your Officejet Pro 6835 e-All-In-One Printer. I can help you with that.
As it sounds like you may be having an issue with preset setting we will do the following:
1) Close all of the programs you have open on your Mac.
1) Click on your Apple icon, System Preferences, and Print and Fax.
2) Hold down the command key and click on the picture of the printer on the left side of the screen.
3) Click on Reset Printing System.
4) Press the plus button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
5) Select your printer from the list.
6) Click on Add.
7) Try printing.
This should allow you to print in color. If it does not then please let me know what happens when you try to print in color and I will be better able to assist you.
