Hi

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that the scans on your HP Officejet 7610 Printer has lines down the pageI would be happy to help and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

Thank you for the screenshot of the scanner output that your're receiving. From the looks of the printed page the scanner glass could be dirty or a lack of power could be a factor.

Here's a list of causes:

  • Static interference
  • Loose USB cable or power cord connection
  • Fingerprints, smudges, lint, or dust on the scanner glass
  • Dirt or debris on the scanner lid
  • Scratched or damaged scanner glass
  • Poor internal connections
  • Dirt or debris inside the product
  • Damaged or faulty scanner bulb or parts

Please try a hard reset:

  • Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
  • Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
  • This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
  • Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

If the issue persists try the steps within the guide: HP Officejet Flatbed Scanner All-in-Ones With ADFs - Vertical Bands, Lines, or Streaks in Copies, Faxes, or Scans.

If you have access to a Windows computer running 8.1 or earlier update the printer's firmware.

If you completed all the preceding steps and your product still has an issue, service the product.

Contacting HP for service in all countries/regions except Asia Pacific.
