booklet printing problems with Photo smart 7520

I have Windows 8 & just purchased HP Photosmart 7520. I am having alot of problems printing booklet form.

On the Main Print Page  I chose  "Landscape" orientation,   1 page per sheet, & left binding. Also set the booklet subset to "both sides".  I set the Paper size to "Fit Actual Size" (actually the paper size doesn't seem to matter) . I make sure that "Booklet" is highlighted too.

This is where things get hairy: my printouts are upside down when printing on both sides. 

1. I have checked under the "Properties" section that goes to "Layout" & have tried "flip on short edge" without checking "auto rotate" on the main print page
2. I have tried the same as above but put in "flip on long edge"
3. I have check "auto rotate" on the main page, & it checked "flip on short edge" under properties
4. I repeated #3 & checked "flip on long edge" under properties

Is there anything else that I can do?  I am so frustrated! (By the way, I had to go through trial & error with my first HP all in one too---my 5510, but with different options to choose) Why is it so complicated?
