Actually, it took two calls to HP tech support to solve the issue. The first person could not come up with a solution.
The second person did. The solution was to go into page preview, choose custom paper, and reset the all margins to 0.00.
I do not know why this fixed it, but it did. The people at Avery did suggest to reset the margins, but did not explain how it could be done. The HP tech person actually took remote control of my computer, found the solution, after a few false starts, then allowed me to do it myself as she watched, to insure that I could do it myself again. Very helpful. I never had this problem with my old HP printer. But I am glad it is fixed now. Happily, Avery said that they would replace all the label sheets I spoiled while trying to figure things out, which is a good thing as they cost more than $1 a sheet...not to mention the ink.
