I'm considering buying a 3-in-1 printer for my cousin and want to be able to restrict to just black ink. Many printers and brands will not do this (they use colour to make the grey of greyscale nicer).
HP manuals for the 6600, 6700, and 8600 printers have a feature in Advanced > GreyScale > Black Ink Only. However this is described in the manual for printing photos only. It is not explicity described in the printing 'documents' section of the manual.
Does anyone know if this setting is available also for documents rather than just photo printing?
Does anyone know if this setting is available for draft mode printing of documents?
Does anyone know if this setting can be made default for a Mac?
If so, on which 3-in-1printers?
Thanks very much, Russ.
