I have an HP 6500 Wireless all in one printer. I keep getting an "out of paper" error when I try to print. I am just using the built in printer status page as a test. I have already disassembled the printer as far as I could and cleaned all the rollers. I have isolated the problem to be the rollers on the right side of the printer that are supposed to come down and feed the paper into the main roller assembly. These rollers never come down and feed the paper into the assembly, therefore the printer thinks is it is always out of paper. The small wheel which measures to see the height of the paper stack seems to still be functioning correctly.
I need to know how to rectify the problem of getting those feed rollers to decend on to the paper when they are supposed to to initiate the paper feed sequence.
The printer is out of warranty. I don't mind taking the whole printer apart to try to resolve this problem. Due to another problem on the LED screen it is not worth getting the computer serviced. So, if I screw it up it can't get any worse.
I have already bought another new HP to replace it as I needed to have the multiple abilities of a printing all in one unit without delay. Now I am interested in trying to fix this one as a spare. It has given me about 4 years of solid service.
So, does anyone know how to rectify this problem? Thank you.
Bill.
