Hi @joviantan
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The "There is a problem with the printhead. Event code: 62.80.03" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 printer often indicates an issue with the printhead itself, rather than the ink cartridges. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially solve this problem:
Check Printhead Installation: Ensure the printhead is installed correctly. Remove the new ink cartridges and then the printhead. Re-seat the printhead securely, followed by the cartridges.
Clean Printhead Contacts:
- Power off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
- Remove the printhead and gently clean the copper contacts using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Allow it to dry and reinstall the printhead and cartridges.
Use Automatic Printer Diagnosis:
- Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool
In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed. - Download the tool from HP Customer Support to get troubleshooting instructions for the printer's error.
Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates through HP Support Assistant or via the HP website.
Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on the printer (if available). You can often find this option within the printer's menu under "Settings" > "System Setup" > "Restore Factory Defaults".
