Hi @B3RB
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The error code 0x6100004a on your HP OfficeJet 6962 typically indicates a hardware or paper jam issue.
Since restarting hasn't resolved it, here are some steps to troubleshoot further:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Open the printer's access doors and inspect all areas for any small pieces of paper or debris, especially in the paper feed and output areas.
- Use a flashlight to check deep inside the printer, as even tiny scraps of paper can cause this error.
2. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
3. Clean the Printhead
- Remove the ink cartridges and gently clean the printhead contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Visit the HP Support website to check for firmware updates for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve known issues and improve performance.
5. Perform a Semi-Full Reset
- A semi-full reset can clear internal errors:
- Unplug the printer and hold down the Cancel (X) button and the Wi-Fi button simultaneously while plugging it back in.
- Release the buttons when the printer powers on.
