Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the E6 error on the HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer typically indicates a mechanical issue or paper jam. This error can occur due to a variety of reasons, including problems with the ink cartridges or paper feed. To troubleshoot and clear the error, follow these steps:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Open the printer's paper tray and check inside the printer for any paper jams or bits of torn paper.
- Remove any paper you find, making sure no bits are stuck inside the rollers.
2. Check the Ink Cartridges
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the printer and inspect the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.
- Remove the cartridges, clean the electrical contacts gently with a lint-free cloth, and reinstall them.
3. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
4. Perform a Hard Reset
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and wait 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error is resolved.
5. Inspect the Printer for Obstructions
- Open the printer's access doors and check for any foreign objects or debris that could be obstructing the carriage or rollers.
- Gently move the ink carriage from side to side to see if it's stuck or blocked.
