Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Officejet 6500. Please try a power cycle on your router, computer and printer:
1) Turn off your printer
2) Disconnect the power cord from the back of the router (for less than 60 seconds), then plug the power cord back into the router
3) Restart your computer
4) Turn your printer back on, wait for the computer to turn on
5) Try to print a document
