I have an HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 8.1 and my printer is an HP Photosmart 2710 All in One. The printer is connected with a cable to the router (ZTE) and the laptop is connected to the network via wireless. The printer did work on one occasion prior to upgrading from Windows 8.0 to 8.1 and updating the Bios that HP sent me. Since then the printer has been "offline". There doesn't appear to be any button in the control panel for turning it back "online". I have reinstalled the driver three times and have printed the test print, although the last time I tried to print the test print, that would not work either. Contrary to what one HP employee has posted, when you right click on the printer icon, there is no on-off-line toggle button. The "device status" in the printer properties states that the printer is working properly. The Windows printer troubleshooter is worthless and cannot identify the problem. What should I do? I never had this problem with my old computer by the way, which just died in January.
