If the solutions in this thread worked once... or many times.... and suddenly failed again, try the following:
- Sometimes the rubber roller that picks up the paper is overcoated with paper dust. You have to wipe out the powder-like dust off the rubber.
Remove the paper tray and lift/tilt the printer about 8 inches from the desk. You'll find the rubber roller where the paper tray's end meet the end of the 'slot' on the printer.
You have to somehow manage to wipe it with clean semi-damp (wet) cloth. Don't use alcohol as this tends to 'bloat' the rubber. Manage to rotate the roller as you wipe it clean to make sure all surface are cleaned. - Some card stocks are hard to pull apart from each other. The texture of the surface of the card plays a big part on the problem. A solution given in this thread suggests separating this kind of stock by an ordinary paper... which makes a lot of sense because the card has a different stock at its bottom... but you have to alternately set a print text and print blank page in doing so. Try to avoid these kind of paper stock which gives a lot of headache.
- If you're having this problem with photopaper at 230 gsm, try to use a different brand until you find the best one that works with HP.
