I run windows 7 and use 850c printers. I use an old DOS programme called Symphony and printing is a breeze with 4 of my 6 printers as these 4 print in a compressed mode as required by me in Symphony. However the 2 spare 850c printers won't print in compress mode with Symphony. These 2 printers work OK with other applications in windows 7 and will print in Symphony but not in the compress mode needed. I have printed the test page for the 6 printers (that is, press second button 4 times to generate a report). The reports are all identical except each has a different serial number and the font printed for the 4 usable printers is small, but normal size (12 point) for the 2 that I can't use for Symphony. Is there some setting I have to change in the 2 unusable printers to get them to print in compress mode? If so how do I make the change? Is it that there have been a number of 850C versions manufactured and there's no knowing which will print in compress or normal font?
