Printer Envy 7640 is not printing
Re: What can I do to correct.....Cartridge alignment failure
Hi!
Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?
Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges?
Make sure that the correct paper is loaded
Remove and reinstall the cartridges
A power reset drains power from the printer and returns the printer to the same settings after restarting. To eliminate any potential power deficiencies that might prevent a successful alignment, move the printer to another location and plug it directly into a wall outlet. Follow these steps to reset your printer.
1.Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
3.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
4.Wait at least 15 seconds.
5.Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
6.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
7.If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button () to turn it on.
Align the printer
1.Press the Setup button () on the printer control panel.
2.Press the Down Arrow button to select Tools, and then press the OK button.
3.Press the Down Arrow button to select Align Printer, and then press the OK button.

Printer will not print in colour when PC connects over wirless
My new printer prints from the PC in colour when connected via USB but only prints black and white when connected via wireless.
I can print in colour over wirless from IPhone but not the PC - Windows 10, Officejet 3831
officejet pro 8210 print quality
I seem unable to find any documentation on the specs of the qualitative named choices of print quality in this printer. Obviously "maximum dpi" and "general office" are the best and worst. But, what do "professional" and "presentation" denote?
officejet pro 8210 borderless printing
Is there any way to do borderless printing (edge to edge) on a paper size other than letter and A4?
Re: new black ink cartridge will not print black ink

Re: Abruptly not printing, quality test is OK
I have the same problem - have done everything recommended on website. Two new XL black cartridges tried, and I've done so many trial prints that the colour ones now show low! What is going on? I looked at buying a new cartridge assembly for £60 but I don't want to do that if that's not the problem, especially as I've just spent £50 on two new cartridges!
Re: Black ink smears when highlighting
Most highlighters contains solvents that may cause inks from Inkjet printers to slightly dissolve and smear upon application. You could try using Dry/Pencil highlighters or Gel-based highlighters.

Re: Photosmart 5520 loud noise when on cartridges parking but it does print
I tried what you suggested but it didn't help. I am not the only one having the problem, There is a clip on YouTube with sound that has the noise of gears gnashing like mine. It definitiely originates on the right side of the printer (as you face it).
Here is the clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hzGsGTDtJc
Since others are having the same problem, it looks like a design defect. But the fixes suggested on that post do not include enough detail for me to follow them (something about shimming-up the carriage).
I didn't even get through one ream of paper with this printer before this problem occurred!
New ink but problems printing
The ink cartridges in my printer are pretty much full but the print quality is terrible.
I've tried the cleaning options but it hasn't improved.
Any ideas?
(I am using genuine HP ink)
Thanks

Since the printer is able to print the print quality test report, it could be an issue with the printer driver installed on your Mac. Removing the existing printer driver and then setting up the printer with Apple AirPrint may resolve the issue. Let's try these step's:
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how it goes!

Re: Output Tray Closed Messge
I had the same problem. I tried all the suggested methods. The reason - Broke down the engine, which turns the shaft and gears (CB760-60030). Therefore, the system shows an error "the output tray is closed". So, as the tray lid blocks the movement of the gears. I put the engine from HP photosmart 5063 with minor modifications, and it all worked!
P.S.: Sorry for my poor English.

In order to print the Print Quality Diagnostic Page:
From the printer control panel, open the Setup
menu.
Open the Reports or Tools menu.
Touch Print Quality Report.

Re: Print quality blurred
Hi, thanks four kindness to reply. It’s connected via WiFi. I did a print test via the website and it printed perfectly. But next time it could be bad, there’s no consistency. I just don’t get why...
I didn’t try to scan it. Never scanned with my new printer. I’ll check.
Cherrs.
